First Day of School 2008

Zac started Jr. High this year. They started a day before everyone else so that they could get use to the school and finding classes.

So this if from the first day of school. You can tell how excited Amanda is...this will be her last first day of school picture, unless I follow her around when she goes to college (which I just might do). Zac started school the Friday before the rest of them so he and I spent Monday shopping.

Havasupai baby!

This last June I had the most awesome oppurtunity to go to Havasupai with a bunch of my buddies. Havasupai is an Indian Reservation about 2 hours north east from Kingman AZ.
We got to Havasu Hill top (the rim where your hike starts) at about midnight so we camped out on the side of the road so we could get some rest before our 12 mile hike down the canyon the next morning.

Me and my wonderful car (that almost broke down upon entering arizona, it's a trooper!) camping out on the side of the road.

From the rim its about 2 miles of steep switch backs, then from there its just a steady downward slope til you reach the visit. Want to guess how exciting I was to pack back up those switch backs? Not very.

Did I mention we were each packing 30-40 pound back packs? Oh that was fun!

When you're hiking 12 miles in high 90 degree weather, you start to wonder if you are crazy and if it was really worth it...
Then you turn a corner and you see this

DEFINATELY WORTH IT! This was the most beautiful place I have ever been! It's amazing, once you reach the falls you feel like you are in the amazon or something, til you look up and see the red canyon walls and the cactus haha.

That's my little head in the water, totally jumped out from behind that fall!

It's like a jungle!

To get to some of the other falls we had to climb down an almost straight up and down wall that had chains to help lead your way down.

This trip was INCREDIBLE! I would do it 50 more times, its so amazing. Ps. I don't have a picture of it but I jumped off a 65 ft. cliff! You'd better believe it!

We traveled home on a Sunday, so we thought it would be fitting to have a Sacrament meeting right here at beautiful Bryce canyon.

Journey Concert

For fathers day this year my present to my dad was him going to see Cheap Trick, Heart and Journey with his favorite girl in the world... me!

Our seats were AWESOME! Center stage, about 12 rows back, raised above the pit so even when they were standing, we could be sittin and see right over their heads.

This picture wins the best face award by far!
I didn't know dad could do that!

We love New York!

In April Amanda and I went to New York City with our friends Lise and Emily. We had a blast, it was amazing how much you can do there in 31/2 days. The picture below is in Grand Central Station. The one on the left is Time Square (at
1 a.m.)

Amanda and Emily in a "green taxi". The NYC taxi drivers don't really like these guys. We about got ran off the road several times. I was an adventure. Below is at The Lion King. We had goose bumps in the opening act. The costuming was amazing!

I had my first (I hope to have many more) NYC hot dog, complete with mustard and sauerkraut Surprisingly I really liked it and I even got a kiss from the hot dog man. We had such a great time playing in the city. Amanda and I both fell in love with New York and hope to visit again.

Jake's Birthday

Jake turned six in June 14th. We had a big water party in the yard, complete with miniture horse and buggy rides. He was so excited about his party... his guest list got longer everyday. We ended up with 24 little ones (don't ask me what I was thinking!). He had lots of fun.
